Yirgacheffe is commonly accepted as the birthplace of coffee. Legend holds that a local goat herder noticed his goats being unusually jumpy after eating the berries of a particular type of bush. Prized for its rose scent, sweet pineapple notes, and tea-like finish, this particular roast also displays hints of blueberry. Medium acidity.
Honduras Ruta del Cafe
Ruta del Cafe (“Coffee Highway”) coffee from Honduras is roasted medium-dark, giving it a distinct flavor of cinnamon, roasted almonds, and cocoa nibs. It follows with a burnt honey flavor and finishes with an almost pear-like freshness. Medium acidity, but maintains its softness in the mouth.
Bright and floral at first, then sweet and warm, this balanced coffee has initial notes of stone fruit which then mature into milk chocolate, honey, and a touch of toffee. Medium acidity, clean mouthfeel.
